Tremec transmission is an OE supplier in the manufacture of manual transmissions for Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Aston Martin, TVR and a lot of strength Medium and high truck applications. His TKO is a force of high saturation manual transmission 5 speed that was originally designed to be adapted Fox body Mustang to cars to replace the T5 weaker, but also vis Bell Ford up to four speed car. Tremec when the fans realized that applications are suitable for GM, he decided to do a little easier for people (and to a great opportunity, too) to produce a version of GM's technical knockout.
The GM version is screwed directly to almost anywhere in Chevrolet / Buick / Old / hood Pontiac passenger car with four speeds. Although Ford and GM versions TKO available, Mopar fans can get all the custom parts they need to adapt a TKO in the version of virtually any Ford V8 Mopar. The TKO has never been original equipment on all production cars, although his grandfather, Tremec TR-3550 was a limited edition Ford Mustang Cobra in the mid-1990. The TKO is purely a secondary market for transmission designed for high performance cars.
It are three basic models, variations TKO-500 and two of the TKO-600. The high proportion of TKO-500 is designed for a continuous 500 lb-ft of torque, gear ratio and offers a 3.27:1 deep first and a ratio of 0.68:1 overdrive fifth gear. The close relationship TKO-600 is designed for a continuous 600 lb-ft of torque and has a 2.87:1 gear first, and a ratio of 0.82:1 or 0.64:1 overdrive fifth gear overdrive. The capacity of the rated torque is said they are very cautious, because a significant number of cars on the ground with engines that exceed the torque value by a wide margin, and failures are rare.
The knockout technique using a train of three internal exchange mechanism, eliminating all external links and problems that go with it. The short shifter aluminum ticket can throw be removed, rotated 180 degrees, and reinstall a position to make additional changes. Optional custom controls are available in several configurations different positions to mimic the change in the number of muscle cars. The cast iron forks used TKO for Change a tree in one piece cons, and tapered roller bearings at the input, output, and the axes of the fight against resistance.
Each has two outputs TKO speedometer gearing mail. The mechanical power is a Ford design, but you can get cables Hybrid speedometer applications of GM or Mopar.
